In 2018, the Supreme Court ruled PASPA as unconstitutional. This exemption allowed specific states that met certain criteria the ability to apply for exclusion from the law. Nearly every state was affected by PASPA with the exception of the few states that the Act was specifically written to exclude. The Act, also known as PASPA, effectively criminalized sports betting activities throughout the US. ![]() The law was intended to define the legality of brick and mortar sports betting on a nationwide scale. The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 was a US Gambling Law often referred to as the Bradley act, due to its primary sponsor New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley.
